Taggart Family Y
Located in the heart of Ottawa, the Taggart Family Y is a 61,000 sq.-ft. inclusive, community-based facility providing unique programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
Clarence-Rockland Y
The Clarence-Rockland Y is a 17,400 sq.-ft. inclusive, community-based facility providing unique programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
Important Information
All members, guests and visitors must check in before entering our facilities. To ensure the safety of all, non-members are required to present photo ID prior to entry.
Group Fitness Classes: All Group Fitness classes are included in your Y membership! Registration for the entire session is required (except for Cyclefit which is booked weekly), and Y members may register for as many classes as they wish at no charge.
Y Programs: Two free Y programs per session are included in your membership at no additional cost (eg: swim lessons, family karate, yoga).*
*Some programs are excluded: for example, Certification Courses, and only one concurrent Swim Lesson is permitted each session.
Y Services: Child Minding services are included in your membership.
Y Camps: Your Y membership also gives you a discount on Y Camp programs! (summer camps and holiday/PA day camps).
Drop-in Classes: Require no booking/registration. These activities are included as part of your Y membership (non-members must purchase a day pass to participate).
Examples of drop-in activities: Open Gym, Youth Night, Family Badminton
Bookable Activities/Services: These activities have a capacity limit and should be booked in advance each time you wish to participate to guarantee your spot. These activities/services are included as part of your Y membership (non-members must purchase a day pass to participate).
Activities can be booked online, by phone, or in person.
Examples of bookable classes: Cyclefit, Child Minding, Lane Swim, Open Swim, Pickleball, Adult Volleyball, Youth Badminton.
Registered Programs: In order to be guaranteed a spot to participate in a registered program, a Y member/non-member must register for these programs for the full session (not each day/week). This includes group fitness classes as well as other Y programs.
Group fitness classes are included as part of your Y membership, along with two free registered programs. Non-member pricing is also available for all registered programs.
Registration for programs can done online, by phone or in person.

If you are not a Y member, but have participated in Y classes or programs within the last 3 years, you are already in our online system: Please contact our Membership team to activate your account so you can register/book online.
If you are not a Y member, and have not participated in Y classes or programs within the last 3 years, you can create an account online via our client portal.
How to Register
You must be registered to participate in all group fitness classes (except Cyclefit - see below) and Y programs. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. Full payment is required upon registration. (Two registered programs per session are included in your Y membership, and you may participate in as many* group fitness classes as you like).
Online: Programs can be viewed and registered online.

How to Book*
Booking guarantees your participation in certain Y activities/services. You can book into classes that require it online, in person, or by phone.
- Online: Activities can be viewed and booked online.

- In person: You can book activities/services in person at the Clarence-Rockland YMCA or Taggart Family YMCA.

Cyclefit Class Booking*
Cyclefit classes are not registered by session, they are booked each week. Your space can be reserved prior to each class, up to one week in advance by using our online booking system, by phone, or in person.
- To book your Cyclefit classes online: Login to your online account and click on the Activity Registration Tab at the top of the page. Select Drop-In Classes (Cyclefit) to book your spot at a Cyclefit class.
Note that your online account must first be activated by Membership Desk staff at one of our facilities. This can be done in person or over the phone. They will activate your online account and you will receive an email with a temporary password and a link to our booking site.
Drop-In Classes
Drop-in classes do not require booking or registration. Classes that are not at capacity will be open to drop-ins at no charge to members; non-members will be charged a day pass rate.
* Attendance will be taken. Any registered participants who miss more than 2 classes per session without notice will be removed from the class list and the space made available to another participant.
Methods of payment include:
- Credit cards: VISA, Mastercard and American Express.
- Debit cards: Can now be used for monthly ongoing payments IF the debit card has a VISA or Mastercard symbol on the front AND it also has an expiry date and a 3-digit CVV code.
- Cash and Interac: These options are available for registrations made in person.
Classes that fall on statutory holidays will not run; fees are prorated accordingly.
The Y reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes based on enrolment. Refunds or account credits will be issued where applicable.
Requests for refunds must be made in writing by mail or email. 75% of the course/camp fee per session will be refunded if cancellation occurs with a minimum of two weeks’ notice prior to the start of the program/camp.
There is no fee for transfers between sessions. All transfers must be completed at least two weeks prior to the session start date.
No refunds are offered with less than two weeks notice. There are no refunds for children who are asked to leave a course/camp due to behavioural issues.
Our child and youth facility access guidelines are in place for everyone's safety and security. All members, guests and visitors must check in before entering our facilities, and all non-members are required to present photo ID prior to entry to the Y.
